TEN ROMEO NEWSLETTER

SHANGRI-LA GRAND PRIX AIR RACE, Report 10

August 20, 1983

Dear Folks:

It seems appropriate to share with the sponsors, as well as a limited number of others, the financial sheet on TEN ROMEO's participation in the 1983 GRAND PRIX AIR RACE.

The enclosed sheet indicates the generosity of my sponsors, and partnership with them in this exciting project is certainly appreciated.

I am presently moving rapidly into my next major project, which is a trip into the Soviet Union this fall.  My "pitch" to Andropov will be to do an up-date on my doctorate research of 1958.  However, my friends know that equally important on this Russian trip will be my move to obtain clearance for TEN ROMEO, and later, a LIGHTNING, to enter Soviet Air Space in 1984.

Wish me luck on this new and equally exciting project.

And, I can't close down the 1983 GRAND PRIX AIR RACE project without a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU for your support these last six months.

Keep well!

                                        Cordially,

                                        Mil

Gentlemen:

Just wanted you sponsors to know how much I appreciated your support this spring in the GRAND PRIX.  As you can see, the final amount you contributed to the project was far more than agreed upon.  Guess that's what happens when one is dealing not only with top-flight professional colleagues, but also friends.

Am on my way to the USSR this fall, where I will plan on making the contacts required to facilitate the exposure of the LIGHTNING in the Soviet in a year or so.

Will keep you posted.

                                        Cordially,

                                        Mil

P.S. As you may have surmised, in preparation for the race I spent an additional $12,000 above my estimated budget (and the sponsor contribution) for the Stormscope, work with Mike Smith, etc.
